Sell one skill for two hours a week

Pick a task people already pay for, name a price for a finished piece of work, and fill two hours before you build a brand.

One offer, not a business

Choose something you can finish in two hours that a person or a small shop already buys: a cleaned-up spreadsheet, a rewritten menu, a set of photos of a room, a simple flyer, bookkeeping for one month. If you cannot describe the finished thing in one sentence, it is not the offer.

Price the finished thing, not the hour, the first time. A number you would accept on a Tuesday night. Write it down. Underpricing to “get experience” fills the two hours with work you resent.

Find two people, not an audience

You need two yeses, not a following.

  1. List ten people or shops who have the problem. Neighbors and old coworkers count.
  2. Send five notes this week. One sentence on the finished thing, the price, and when you can deliver.
  3. Do the first job exactly as described. Ask what was missing only after you are paid.
  4. Stop at two hours a week until three jobs are done. Then decide if you want a fourth.

What to skip

Courses that promise the customers, inventory you have to store, and anything that asks you to recruit friends. If the money depends on someone else signing up under you, it is not this guide.
